Hope your week's off to a great start. If not, don't trip - we're halfway through it, so it could turn around for the better (Happy Hump Day) lol. I just wanted to share a quick thought as I start my day.
Have you ever felt like God doesn't know what you're going through in life? Like your prayers are going up but not landing anywhere? You're not the only one. With all the calamity going on with our country and planet Earth, it can sometimes seem like God isn't listening. But He is.
Last weekend, my daughter Jaelle was trying to tell us a story (tbh, I'm not even sure what the story was about now because she tells so many haha). The problem was, she couldn't find the right 4-year-old words to describe what she wanted to say --- and it made her very upset. Jasmine and I playfully tried to guess what word she was looking for, but she got more and more frustrated with every incorrect answer. Eventually, I stopped her and said, "Boobah, it's okay! We don't know what word you're trying to say, but we do know what you're talking about. We understand."
I think that's a conversation a lot of us need to have with the Holy Spirit today. Sometimes life can be so disgusting that you don't even know how to pray to God about it. Or, you feel like you don't know enough of the "right" words to say that will "make" God hear you. Be encouraged that God does know you, He does hear you, and He does care about what's going on in your life.
In Psalm 139, David wrote:
Lord, you have examined me
and know all about me.
2 You know when I sit down and when I get up.
You know my thoughts before I think them.
3 You know where I go and where I lie down.
You know everything I do.
4 Lord, even before I say a word,
you already know it.
5 You are all around me—in front and in back—and have put your hand on me.
6 Your knowledge is amazing to me;
it is more than I can understand.
This is amazing for those of us who believe it! That the almighty God, maker of heaven and earth, ruler of the universe, redeemer of all things knows us..and loves us. So the next time you're tempted to believe you're alone in this life, remember that God is with you and He knows exactly what you need - even if you have trouble finding the words to say.
Talk to you soon!
